I came across this interesting video through UrbanPlanet.org about downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Insights Into A Lively Downtown is a short film (about 20 minutes) by a University of Michigan urban planning grad named Kirk Westphal. Mr. Westphal spent a year watching and interviewing people on Ann Arbor’s Main Street. Some interesting themes emerge and there are lots of things that Providence could take away from the project. It’s well worth taking the 20 minutes to watch.
