The WBNA and West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation are hosting a graffiti cleanup on Broadway on Saturday, March 1st. Details are:

We need your help!
Join your friends and neighbors on Saturday, March 1st to clean up graffiti on Broadway, Westminster, and adjoining streets!

“Graffiti generates the perception of blight and heightens fear of gang activity” reports the U.S. Department of Justice. We need to eliminate graffiti because the appearance of graffiti is often perceived as a sign that a downward spiral has begun, and graffiti on residences and businesses sends a message that we don’t care, and attracts crime to our neighborhood. We need to remove it because we love our neighborhood and want it respected.

MEET AT THE BASEBALL FIELD
DEXTER TRAINING GROUND (Armory)
at 9:00am, Saturday, March 1st 15th

RIPTA Westminster Street 17 or 19, Cranston Street 18 or 31

Join with concerned and caring neighbors, volunteers, members of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association, West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation, the Providence Police Department, and the Mayor’s Graffiti Task Force.

Bring any appropriate cleaning supplies if you have them, but we will also provide supplies to those who need them. Most importantly, bring yourself, and anyone else you can find! Afterward, we will meet at El Rancho Grande for yummy Mexican food (yes, they have vegetarian) and refreshing sangria! Come and have fun after the job is done!

TEAM CAPTAINS NEEDED
We need six people to volunteer to lead groups in assigned areas. Please contact Elaine Collins if you are willing to fulfill this role.
