  • From what I’ve seen… craptastic. Brown was open yesterday and I had to bring Susan to work because she’s got a messed up knee from a ski injury and couldn’t get down our street and didn’t want to stand in the street to wait for the bus. I brought her in and the sidewalks around Thayer and her office were barely shoveled. The funny thing over on Thayer, the small shops all had their sidewalks perfectly cleared. CVS, the one place with the money to hire someone to do it, was still covered in snow with a small path from the door to the street corner.

  • There was a city crew out with a plow clearing the sidewalk at Garibaldi Park. The city also ‘cleared’ a shovel width trench on the Atwells overpass and threw dirt on it.

The sidewalks are actually not terrible, considering, but there is a lot of slippery slush, even on sidewalks that are usually clear like the Hilton, Dunk, Convention Center block. Most of the wells between the sidewalks and the streets are piled with snow too, meaning one has to do a lot of climbing at every block.
