Living in one of the towns that the train will pass through I want those crossings as safe as possible. The Railroad-Highway Grade Crossing Handbook - Revised Second Edition August 2007 says new at grade crossings are not recommended. There are safety issues; one of them is having emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances delayed at a crossing. I wouldn't want to be having a heart attack and have my ambulances waiting for a trian. And don't kid yourself this is not about commuters the whole plan is to have freight trains on this line.Emergency vehicles waiting for a freight train to cross could be the difference between life and death. Let's make the train safe for everybody.
