RIDOT closing Allens Ave. for track work

A portion of Allens Avenue south of Thurbers Avenue will be closing this Friday (Oct. 23) evening through next Tuesday (Oct. 27) for work at the railroad crossing near the Port of Providence. See the RIDOT Press Release.

I’ve been through here a few times recently and there is a huge pothole along the tracks heading southbound, good to see this getting fixed.

Cyclists especially should plan for the detour as the recommended detour may not be the best option to get to your destination on bike.
