Columbus Theater, Opening Soon?

Anyone got the scoop on the Columbus? Does this sign on the marquee indicate that they have found funds to tackle their code issues or is it wishful thinking?

I’m hoping it is not just wishful thinking.

It’s been up for a few months now. I don’t see any construction permits but I’ll have to look next time I go by. It might be on the inner doors.

RIFuture: Broadway’s Columbus Theatre to Reopen

For years the marquee on the iconic Columbus Theatre on Broadway has read “Opening Soon” and now finally it’s true. The famed theater that has hosted everything from opera to porn reopens on November 17 with a show headlined by The Low Anthem, a local indie folk band that has made a name of itself on the national stage recently.
