  • Though it appears no more public comment will be taken on the issue of the “Shooters” Parcel plan for development. However, I’ve been brainstorming something to the effect of Japan’s Yokohama Ferris Wheel (http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o107/proviboi/Picture1.png) or The London Eye (http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o107/proviboi/London-LondonEyeJPG.jpg) as an awesome public use for this space and would definitely set Providence apart from other New England cities.

Something the likes of the London Eye or Yokohama in Providence would also be a cool tribute to the days of amusement parks in Rhode Island and allow for the public to engage with the bay in a way, literally, unseen in decades in the Ocean State.

Besides, it would just be darn cool!

All a glow at night. Views of the city and of the bay. A unique way of cashing in, bringing in needed funds. A regional and worldly attraction. Creating public access to the park and harbor. Etc. etc. etc.

A truly different way of looking at Providence!

A boy can dream, can’t he?

  • ^ Edited your post to embed your image, it is hot! People should still click the link to see it embiggened.

  • I like the ferris wheel ! The view out to the harbor would be outstanding. It is the vertical equivalent of the carousel in Roger Williams Park.
