  • Call to Order
  • Roll Call
  • Approval of Meeting Minutes of March 14, 2011

New Business

1. DRC Application No. 11.01 – 55 Canal Street (Arnold Hoffman Building, now RISD’s Illustration Studies Building)

Continued review of the proposal to construct a new 5-story addition on the east elevation of the building to house a code-compliant stairway, elevator and restrooms. (The project received conceptual approval at the DRC meeting on 1/10/11).

2. DRC Application No. 11.05: 108 Weybosset Street/88 Dorrance Street (Teste Block)

Proposal to remove an existing CMU stairwell on the north and east elevations of the building, and to construct a 2-story glass atrium in the alley space adjacent to the former Providence Gas Company Building at 100 Weybosset Street.

Adjournment

I was going to buy the Teste Block as soon as I won the lottery. Since I have failed to win the lottery yet, I am happy to see someone else doing something with it. I’m assuming since they are proposing a glass atrium they are going to put something in the rest of the building… One wouldn’t just put an atrium on an empty building would one?
