Free Waterfront Party at India Point Park

Our friends at the Community Boating Center (facebook) at India Point Park along with the Audubon Society are having an open house event this month that’s free and open to the public.

OPEN HOUSE | CBC PARTNERS WITH AUDUBON SOCIETY OF RI
FOR BOATS, BIRDS, AND BBQ EVENT | SATURDAY 5/21, 1 – 4 PM

Community Boating Center (CBC) and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island have announced a FREE waterfront party featuring skippered sailboat rides, majestic birds of prey, and BBQ on Saturday, May 21st from 1:00- 4:00 pm at the Community Boating Center in India Point Park in Providence, RI.

Highlights will include Audubon Birds of Prey presentations at 1:15 pm and 2:45 pm. Anyone who joins either CBC or Audubon Society of Rhode Island as a 2011 member at the event will receive a free bird-watching boat tour narrated by an Audubon naturalist. Bird-watching boat tours will leave at 2:00 pm and 3:30 PM

John O’Flaherty, Executive Director of CBC commented, “Go sailing, see a live raptor demo, and enjoy a burger on the Bay! Come see our new fleet of keel boats, enjoy the waterfront, and meet our new Audubon partners and their winged friends for a fun, family outdoor adventure.”

The Audubon Society of Rhode Island (ASRI) is dedicated to education, land conservation and advocacy. A voice in statewide ecological issues, the Society actively fulfills its environmental stewardship through preservation and protection of Rhode Island’s natural heritage.

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Gifts of cash or property to CBC may be treated as charitable donations for Federal Tax purposes.
