Providence Bike to Work Day

Despite the rainy week, several people turned out for this morning’s Bike To Work Day festivities, including the mayor and his staff. It was a pleasure talking with many of you today, but as we all seemed to agree, the downside of bike to work day, is that, well… as much as we’d rather keep chatting and drinking New Harvest coffee riding all day, we still have to go to work!

In honor of the day, I thought I’d share my first attempt at making a time-lapse video (above) of my bike commute. I took these photos in April with my phone and a time-lapse app. When I got home, I stitched them together into this video.

Below are some pictures from this morning’s gathering!

  • I’m remiss not to have posted this earlier. I rode with the Mayor’s group this year as I did last year. One big difference: bicycle police escort. Let me tell you, folks, it’s the ONLY way to roll!
