This year’s A Better World By Design Conference takes place at Brown and RISD, September 30 through October 2.

Each year, A Better World by Design brings a global community of innovators to Providence, Rhode Island to reach across disciplines and unite under a common goal: reshaping our built environment. Presenters share engaging stories, workshops teach creative skills, and discussions re-frame perspectives. Better World is an immersive experience that deepens our understanding of the power of design, technology, and enterprise to engage our communities and sustain our environment.

Learn more about this year’s speakers, panels, workshops, tours, and other events. Early Bird registration rates are in effect until September 1st.

This year’s Challenge is Building a Better Coastline.

A Better World by Design is excited to present our second-ever Better World Challenge, a student design competition open to students everywhere. The Better World Challenge aims to channel student innovation towards solving a tangible social issue.

This year, A Better World by Design has teamed up with Save the Bay to tackle a very real and pressing issue: how to preserve coastal communities in the face of increasing threats from rising sea levels, natural disasters and climate change. Along with the perks of being named the Better World Challenge 2011 Winner, we are thrilled to offer a $1000 prize to this year’s winner. We can’t wait to see your ideas!
