Earthquake

Outlet Garage

Remains of the Outlet Garage. Not destroyed by earthquake.

As I took some photos at lunch time today of the remains of the Outlet Garage (including the one above), I was struck about how it looked like news footage from Haiti. Then I got back to work and there was an Earthquake. So that was weird.

Reports from Virginia (where the 5.9 quake’s epicenter was) speak of light damage. Hopefully that holds true. The USGS says there is a possibility of aftershocks.

Also, Fred says a hurricane might be on the way.

  1. Our Virginia correspondent, Jen Coleslaw reports she is fine, but cannot get a cell phone signal in Northern Virginia.

  2. Doesn’t look like anyone but Jef and Brick were worried about me.

BUT I AM FINE! In a panic, though, the cats ate the entire gigantic bowl of kibble so by the time I finally got home from the office, they were about to eat the dog.

  3. Just a little swaying of monitors and chairs in my office. Interesting day all around, anyone know anyone with serious REGEX chops? Might have a job opening where I work.
