  • Yes, yes, a thousand times yes.

(and I’ll support it further when Nice Slice is announced for the space– seriously people, make this happen)

  • Awesome. Now who owns the surface parking lot that lies NEXT to the “Biltmore Garage”?

  • Last summer, my friend owns a food truck was approached by the owners of the building. They were talking about having small kitchens specifically for food truck owners, so that they have a place for prep while also having small store fronts. I’m not sure if this is still the plan; regardless, I’m psyched to see it being developed.

  • This is going way back…was there a restaurant on the ground level of that garage at some point in the past? I seem to remember a restaurant built into a parking garage when I first arrived in Providence in the mid-80s.

  • Isn’t it Buff Chace who owns the B.more garage? He and the Providence Revolving Fund should seriously just by up the city – they’re doing a better job at creating jobs and complete neighborhoods then any polity maker.

  • I think the Buttery was located on the corner of the garage. That is the only thing I remember in that time period.

  • Big thumbs up.

Little rays of hope for livening up the downtown streetscape: first it’s two floors of tiny flats at the Arcade… now a street front of mini-shops to replace the grilles that defend us from the noses of parked cars — or maybe defend the cars from us).

What next? 27 floors are looking for great little — or big –ideas on Westminster St.

  • Great news indeed.

The Washington St streetscape is looking great. The only real blight right now is the Arnold (narrow) Building. I know some items came up late last year to restore that property’s storefronts. Does anyone know what came out of that and what (if any) progress is planned?

  • Whenever I’m downtown, I walk by the Narrow building to see if any progress is being made. I want to say there looked to be an updated permit or two so maybe that’s a good sign. Great news for Washington st with the Biltmore garage.

  • I believe there was recently some interior demolition (preparing for renovation) at the Narrow Building, but I don’t know the current schedule for that building.
