PBN: Sportsman’s Inn sold; boutique hotel planned

The Sportsman’s Inn, a long-standing adult entertainment venue and hotel on Fountain Street, was sold Friday to a group of investors who intend to convert the four-story brick building into a boutique hotel, real estate broker Peter M. Scotti said.

  • Like. as well

How are the hotels doing these days? And when is the last time the W made any remarks on a Providence location?

  • Interestingly enough, the sportsmans inn is the lowest priced hotel in PVD. Hotel rooms in town are really expensive, so it would be nice if the new owners can provide something economical.

  • Jef, i’d like to see how it turns out. Someplace where friends could afford to crash would not be a problem.

  • I used to live there. Hotel 140 I mean, not the Sportsman’s Inn. Hotel 140 was the YWCA when I lived there, yes, “W.” I lived on the 13th floor.

  • YWCA, 13th floor. That’s awesome on so many levels, Jef. Wow, this is significant news. Someday we’ll be able to tell our grandkids… well maybe not grandkids but someone… what used to be there.
