    ProJo: Providence Biltmore sells for $16 million, renovation planned

    Finard Coventry Hotel Management said late Wednesday that it closed on its $16-million purchase of the historic Providence Biltmore, the landmark 292-room hotel downtown.

    A $10 million renovation is planned.

      The company said planned renovations include new building infrastructure and systems, a new roof, repair of exterior brickwork, and remodeling of the ballrooms, meeting rooms, lobby, guestrooms and corridors. Work is expected to begin soon and take up to two years to complete.

      Dear Finard:
      Restore the glass elevator and build a restaurant up at the top of the building. I’d pay mightily for a cocktail with a view of the city.
