The Providence Planning Department tweeted that there will be a public informational meeting on Providence River Pedestrian Bridge. Monday, September 29, 5-6pm, at 444 Westminster Street.

The first permanent structure to rise from Providence’s Interstate 195 lands almost certainly won’t be a new office or apartment building, but the long-planned pedestrian bridge crossing the Providence River.
The City and RIDOT today announced a design competition for the new Providence River Pedestrian Bridge which will replace the old Route 195.

The rendering makes it look like the bridge will be located in a bayou in Louisiana somewhere.
i think someone in planning looks at my travel schedule and schedules meetings to coincide. Really annoyed I can’t make this.
