The first permanent structure to rise from Providence’s Interstate 195 lands almost certainly won’t be a new office or apartment building, but the long-planned pedestrian bridge crossing the Providence River.
The City and RIDOT today announced a design competition for the new Providence River Pedestrian Bridge which will replace the old Route 195.
The rendering makes it look like the bridge will be located in a bayou in Louisiana somewhere.
