  • I guess it is too late for the developers to switch architects, but the architectural team is the worst. THE WORST. There is a project they are designing in East Boston on a site with a direct connection to the water and they put parking on the ground level instead of a program that allow people to interact with the water. That is all you need to know about them. Believe me i understand developers have constraints but you can still have meet you proforma and have a well designed product. It is a shame with all these opportunities, between this site, the entire 195 land, and even the LA Fitness landing strip on North Main that this is just happening with a proper urban design review.

  • I have to agree with J, as exciting as it is to see something built on the 195 land, this project is very disappointing. I sincerely hope it will not become a neighborhood eyesore as it ages. The facade is littered with fake facade treatments and arbitrary design details that make the whole project resemble a tarted up Eisenhower era housing project. The developer will hopefully demand something better, or at least question whether any of the architect’s facade flourishes are actually in service of the building’s beauty.

Phoenix-Lincoln has requested a tax stabilization agreement that would allow the city’s property taxes on the improved site to be collected on a deferred basis.

The lack of visible momentum on a tax agreement for the $50 million project prompted Chairman Joseph Azrack to state that the process for securing TSAs needs to be re-examined.

While the process requires effort by the developer, it also requires cooperation from the mayor’s office and the City Council, Azrack said.

  • I’ve been thinking about this project for a while. Has anybody heard anything about this, is it dead?

  • I have to say that I’m actually relieved. These were ridiculously ugly, although the added residents would have been nice.
