The construction schedule, described in a recent reporting by the DOT, would have preliminary work beginning in the fall. Construction of the $13.2 million bridge project is expected to span two seasons, with completion anticipated in early 2018.

  • Really? Why rush? We can do it the RI way and let it languish in the planning stages for years. Let me guess, Gina Raimondo hired a friend’s company to do the job and paid it in full? Seriously, I’m happy to see this happening… it’s long about time.

  • I’m glad to see this happening, i’ts going to really improve access around the river which hopefully will help development. One thing I don’t understand is, I read that it was delayed since the project design was “very complicated”. Its a pedestrian bridge across a slow moving river. There are mile long bridges stretching across ocean water, why does everything in RI seem like its impossible to build?
