  • ProJo: I-195 panel moves closer to finalizing Providence skyscraper project

The commission authorized its chairman, Robert Davis, to finalize and sign off on a purchase and sales agreement that calls for selling the site of the proposed project to the New York Developer, The Fane Organization, for about $3.1 million.

Under the terms of that agreement, Fane has the right to purchase a little less than an acre of land on Dyer Street. The company, led by Jason Fane, has a $2-million option on a smaller piece of the same parcel.

  • Huge benefit to Providence, this project will give empty nesters like us, who will pay taxes and have retirement funds to spend, but no kids to educate, an opportunity to stay in the city and in addition, will free up homes for young families to buy. Win-Win-Win!
