I wish I had known that there was an Elmhurst neighborhood group when I lived in Elmhurst. When did it get started?
Jim, I have the same question. I own properties in Elmhurst and have never heard of this group. So they are either not doing allot of good or are not very well organized. Either way its a shame. If someone who is a member of the Friends of Elmhurst reads this please contact me at urbanandrew@gmail.com.
Andrew
You can get on their mailing list by email friendsofelmhurst@gmail.com. Apparently, there’s also another group that’s made of defectors from Friends of Elmhurst called Elmhurst Clean and Green. I asked someone involved with them to get me on their email list, but I haven’t been added. He mentioned they do a lot more for the neighborhood than Friends of Elmhurst, but I have yet to be at a meeting for either (hadn’t had a chance to make it to a Friends of Elmhurst meeting).
Anyway, what’s the deal with the neighborhood cleanup? March is almost over and I have not heard anything about it (which could go along with what I heard about the group doing a lot of talking, but not taking a lot of action).
I’m going to try to make it to the April meeting. I think meetings are now held on the second Tuesday of each month.
