Greater City Providence

Take me to the river

Holy rainstorm!

Providence River at RISD at about 9am:

And a little video:

I’m hearing reports of basement flooding in the area. Too bad it wasn’t snow, it would have been December Debacle 2.0.

Update: The ProJo was out and about earlier than I was and caught the Woonasquatucket outside it’s banks in Waterplace. Check out their video here.

I imagine the river level retail spaces at Waterplace (the condo towers) were flooded this morning.

  • You know what makes flooding? When the water has nowhere to go. Do you know what will help the water go somewhere?

    “Fewer PARKING LOTS

    AND

MORE trees and green spaces where the water can be absorbed.”

    ftw.
