The Parking Crisis
Eric over at bikeprovidence.org posted that 91 new bicycle parking hitches are to be installed this spring.

64 are funded by grant from The Providence Foundation (shown in aqua on the googlemap). 27 are funded by RIDOT (shown in pink). The dark blue placemarks on the map indicate hitches already installed, in prior years.

Bike Sharing at RISD
Previously, I had reported about bike share programs in other cities, but the projo is reporting today that RISD is putting together it’s plans for a bike-sharing program.

And, finally…

Bike to Work Day 2009!
According to bikeprovidence.org “The Providence Bike to Work Day celebrations will be happening on May 15th this year.” The festivities will begin at 7am with an hour of food and speeches, then resume again at 3pm with Raffles, bike workshops, food, and more!
