Voting was a breeze, the weather is nice and lines are short. If you haven’t already gone to the polls, do it.
I’m still trying to get a complete view of who all the winner and losers were, but it seems like the Progressive absolutely crushed it yesterday. 2011 is gonna be pretty interesting in the halls of power. Massive City Council turnover. Old-school Democrats on the run.
Poor Frank Caprio. Last man standing, surrounded by fallen comrades, now the sole focus of the Progressive wing of the party.
Don’t wanna jinx it, but a young person might say something about playing a game and then not being allowed to play anymore.
I’m considering voting for Chaffee. I don’t particularly want any old RI political families in power anymore (Caprio fits that bill, as does Chaffee), but I just like Chaffee better. I like that he’s basically gone “rogue” and that he isn’t affiliated with any party anymore. I’m tired of political parties.
