The Providence Preservation Society Holiday Festival returns to Benefit Street
Visit some of the most beautiful houses along historic Benefit Street, many not open to the public except during this tour. Preserved, restored, and furnished carefully and creatively, the houses included on this self-guided tour are sure to dazzle and inspire.
The festivities will also feature hay rides, carolers singing along the streets, activities for children, a door-decorating contest, holiday snacks and hot beverages provided by A.B. Munroe Dairy, and a tree lighting ceremony at City Hall. The tour is walking distance from many retail districts including Wickenden and South Main Streets and Downtown. After the tree lighting, many Downtown shops will have entertainment and be open late for your shopping pleasure.
Tour sites will be open to ticket holders 11:00am-5:00pm Tickets for the tour are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. The Registration Center (where you pick up your guidebook which serves as the ticket) is at the Old State House at 150 Benefit Street.
After touring, join Mayor David Cicilline for his traditional tree lighting at 6:00pm in front of City Hall. A parade leading up to City Hall starts at 5:45pm on Benefit Street in front of the Armory.
