Here are my photos from my walk to work this morning.
So over the winter the bus stop across the street blew away, and last night this one, at Dominica Manor on Atwells had a giant tree fall on it. Someone wants us not to take the bus on Atwells:
The tree seems to have taken out this streetlight too:
Giant tree pulled right out of the ground. Dominica Manor tends to create it’s own weather, intensifying winds. If winds last night hit 75mph, I can imagine them whipping up to 100mph here:
There was a crew from the Housing Authority on the scene removing the tree:
This large branch (half the tree really) landed on Tina’s Caribbean Restaurant. Tina’s appeared to not be damaged:
Oh, and people, when a traffic light goes out, it turns into a four way stop. Take turns and watch for pedestrians, it is really simple. Lights are out at Dean and Atwells, Atwells and Service Road, Broadway and Service Road, and I’m sure elsewhere:
We’re expecting more strong storms today. Keep and eye on the sky and be careful.
Share your storm photos with us on our Flickr Group or email them to contact@gcpvd.org.
Ugh:
ProJo: RI T-storms this p.m. may be as strong as morning’s
The bus shelter here is wrapped in caution tape now and yes, it has a cone on it. And…
Someone was sitting in it waiting for the bus when I walked home this afternoon. Under the yellow tape and sitting on the bench.
