The main problem of course is, people keep getting hit by cars on the Avenue. There are perhaps two ways to stop this, enforcement and infrastructure.
I wonder whether all the bridges got equal pedestrian attention or if Broadway got more. I noticed that when people complained about the snow not getting removed, that Broadway did finally get some (rather poor) attention, while some of the other bridges, like Broad or Westminster, got none at all.
It’s a good step, definitely.
