PawSox Stadium Proposals Feature Copious Waterfront Surface Parking

WPRI reports today that the proposed stadium plan for the PawSox in Pawtucket includes a hotel and housing. What struck me about the plans though, was the parking

You guys, seriously, when are we going to stop paving over our riverbanks?

  • A paved parking lot near a river causes contaminated run off unless there is a well designed capture system

  • I really like the left option on the apex site, already a disturbed area and closer to downtown. Plus less development in that wooded area to the south of 95.
