WPRI: Pedestrian killed by alleged drunk driver in South Kingstown

Mary F. Kemp was on her nightly walk around her South Kingstown neighborhood Monday night when police say a drunk driver veered off the road, hitting and killing her.

Leslie Morales, 29, is facing charges of DUI death resulting, driving to endanger death resulting, and duty to stop at an accident resulting in personal injury/death.

Kemp’s husband and daughter, still processing the news on Tuesday afternoon, said she walked the neighborhood daily, and was doing just that when she was killed.

Neighbors described her as a generous person, most known for her kindness and those daily walks.
