Greater City Providence

You like us! You really like us!

We were awarded “Best Blog” by The Providence Phoenix y’all!

Thank you to all our readers and everyone, and everyone’s moms and cats and mailmen and Faceplace friends who voted for us! We’ve been feeling like Susan Lucci for a while now, and to be honest, it is actually quite cool to win.

Congratulations also to everyone who was nominated in our category, EcoRI, IndieArts RI, Providence Daily Dose, and RadioProv.

Also thanks to the Phoenix for hosting the poll and hosting a great party at The Met.

Greater City Providence

Promoting the smart urban growth of the Greater Providence region.

  • Congratulations! It was very well deserved. You and the rest of the GC:PVD team really do a great job at keeping us informed, Jef.

  • Jef:
You have certainly earned this coveted award. Your attention to writing/sharing news and information about what is cool about our place and other places doing cool stuff is unprecedented! You are a model for other urban-based blogs! You did GOOD, my friend!!!!!!

  • Here’s what The Phoenix had to say about us:

    Best Blog

    Greater City: Providence

The process of living in urban environments is a commitment that can always use a little help, and in the last couple of year the cultural and political posts on this LaProv-centric realm have proven to reveal part of the city’s soul. From updates on the Route 195 relocation to shared photos of the ever-changing neighborhoods, it’s an essential stop for those who dwell in our capitol. Hey, they even have the full text of Linc’s budget address. Call it a great digital cornerstone, and don’t forget to “like” the Zoo’s giraffe cam before you leave.

  • Very well deserved – I agree! Congrats! I don’t know what I would do without this blog. Thanks for all that you do.

  • very well deserved, indeed. Since moving away, GCPVD is my most-frequented Providence resource.

  • Congrats! It was a pleasure to meet you and hand you the award!
    ~Dayna from The Phoenix

  • Congratulations! Without your efforts, we’d not have a clue about what’s happened, is happening or about to happen to our struggling, but nonethless greater city’s streetscape.

Thanks, Jef… and keep the exposés, commentary, damning photos and and kudos — where warranted — coming.
