Greater City Providence

Providence Open Market moves to Pawtucket?

Well OK, I kid, kind of. But why is the Providence Open Market moving from Westminster Street Downcity to Lippitt Park on the Pawtucket line?

The Providence Open Market, now in its 2nd season, is the city’s only Open-Air Market where you can shop for handmade artisan goods and fine art. Now located in picturesque Lippitt Park, on the east side of Providence, at the juncture of Hope Street and Blackstone Blvd, where Providence borders Pawtucket.

Emphasis mine.

Also, does the fact that the directions page features a little cartoon of a hipster* on a Vespa but said directions are via Route 95 define irony?

*it’s either a hipster or Jen Cole
