Yes, it’s already been another month – time for the November Geek Dinner. We’ve lined up another great one, if we do say so ourselves”¦ 🙂

Founded by Brown CS ‘09 graduate Andres Douglas, Bakodo is a Providence-based startup that’s all about doing awesome things with barcodes. Their Barcode Scanner for the iPhone provides anywhere-access to the massive Bakodo product database, giving you all manner of cool product info: from your friends opinionated reviews of deodorant, to the lowest price and closest location of that geek gadget you covet.

Launched this past June, Bakodo has already garnered a lot of attention, including being featured in Mashable’s “5 Huge Trends In Social Media Right Now,” and has broken into the Top 20 of the AppStore’s Utilities category. At the November Geek Dinner, Andres will tell the Bakodo story, demo their impressive services, and reveal some of his secrets for making hugely popular mobile apps – a must hear if your strategy contains the word “mobile” or “barcode”!

Be sure to download and check out the (free!) Bakodo app for your iOS device.

Please RSVP at Facebook – and while you’re there please join our Facebook group. And if you want to join our very-low-volume email announcement send an email to Jack Templin with your name and affiliation.
