A North Providence High School teacher is recovering after being hit by a car outside the school’s prom venue Friday night.

  1. DOYWatch is investigating the idea of legislation automatically checking for texting while driving when someone is injured or killed by a motorist with enhanced penalties if that is the case. Possibly the motorist just didn’t slow down in response to dark/rainly condtions, so it is “just an accident” with no penalties. In general, unless drunk, there are few penalties if bad driving injures someone.
