In Part 1 we look at the area where Route 195 connects to Wickenden Street. The RIDOT plans ensures that automobile traffic moves through swiftly, but what about pedestrians and cyclists? Ron Henderson of L+A Landscape Architecture takes a look at the RIDOT plan and presents an alternative.
Part 2: Walk Light FAIL in Davol Square
In Part 2 we look at a very simple but important failure, the walk signals don’t work in Davol Square. Not only that, the area is a general disaster for pedestrians. What does this foreshadow about the future of the rest of the street grid and the pedestrian environment for the rest of the project schedule?
Part 3: Wickenden Street update
In Part 3 we review an updated proposal for the Wickenden Street intersection and learn that the city has sent RIDOT back to the drawing board.
